Sacramento, Calif., June 2, 2016 - In its 56th year, the California Educational Technology Professionals Association(CETPA) is gearing up for the largest and most popular conference and exhibitor’ showcase the non-profit organization has ever produced. An emphasis on transformative leadership and professional learning in education technology have the member-based association at the forefront of the industry as a leading force in driving change through technology in education with it’s primary focus in California schools and districts. More than 1,200 participants and over 200 vendors are anticipated to attend this year’s conference and showcase that will be held November 8-11, at the Sacramento Convention Center, located at 1400 J Street, Sacramento, Ca., 95814.

The CETPA Annual Conference concentrates on professional learning and providing resources to IT Professionals working in the California education community.  This year will offer many relevant sessions that include topics such as Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, and Infrastructure with informative sessions on E-rate and LCFF/LCAP.  Our hands on labs by Microsoft, Apple, Google and our BYOD lab provide real training for the applications being used today. Leading EdTech professionals will also provide many insightful sessions to ensure that IT Professionals understand the needs of the classroom.

Pioneering this year’s President’s Keynote presentation is Robert Ballard, a famous explorer and historian, and U.S. Navy Commander, who is known for his TedX talks and discovery of the Titanic and many other sunken ships around the world. His fascinating journeys will teach us a great deal about our past so that we can take strides in technology of more magnitude, in a parallel universe to oceanic exploration.

With 22 honorary degrees and six military awards under his belt, Dr. Ballard is a lifelong learner, with a scientific mind full of discovery. His Hubbard award for “extraordinary accomplishments in coaxing secrets from the world’s oceans and engaging students in the wonder of science,” is a perfect premise for an innovative year as we discover our inner potential to further shape the world of education technology.

The event will feature two additional keynotes and four days of non-stop action where the learning never stops. Hundreds of technology professionals will soak in new skills through networking and sharing information, enjoying hosted meals, sponsored events, and taking home new ideas and technology gadgets. Participants will explore new methods that embrace technology in education that will help schools progress into 21st Century learning and build a future of greater achievement across California.

“The annual conference is great for keeping up with innovation and best practices for technology professionals in education who want to maintain their edge in  operational, administrative, and educational technology,” CETPA Executive Director Andrea Bennett noted.  “The main emphasis is on providing relevant information which the IT Professional can immediately take back and apply to their organizations.”
