SDPC and A4L Annual Meeting 2/28-3/2 2017

SDPC and A4L Annual Meeting

CETPA has joined the Access for Learning Community (A4L) https://privacy.a4l.org/ and as a result have started the regional California Student Privacy Alliance. This membership will enable all California districts to benefit from the great work that has been in place by Cambridge Public Schools and other Massachusetts districts, along with significant contributions by Maine, Virginia, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

During the next weeks and months we will be working directly with districts, county offices and CETPA Regional Groups to share best practices around student data privacy, register them into the CSPA Registry of Applications, and share the new standard agreement developed by a team headed up by Mark Williams of F3  and Dana Greenspan from VCOE known as the CSDPA (California Student Data Privacy Agreement).

The Executive Director of A4L, Larry Fruth has asked me to share news of an upcoming Annual A4L Meeting in Scotts Valley, CA. We will be sharing some of the great work of the community.

We hope you can join us for SDPC activities at the A4L Annual Meetings in Feb in Scotts Valley, CA.

  • On Tue Feb 28th - Day 1 of the meetings -  we will have our own “Privacy Track” featuring the latest from the various alliances including CA and MA’s leadership work, working sessions on the next project of the SDPC and identification of what’s next for the group.  Register now to hold your place HERE (BTW there are other great topics during all three days that I bet will impact your work!  Check the full agenda HERE).
  • Then stay for a fun celebration event.  Attached is the invite for a SDPC Social Gathering on Tue Feb 28th.  Come help us celebrate and swap stories with other end users, vendors and partner organizations.
  • Register before Dec 31st and take advantage of the discounted rate!
